Of Special Note:
As we travel around the country working the quilt show circuit, we have the opportunity to meet a lot of wonderful quiltersand quilters. During one of our shows in a small North Carolina town, we met a very special customer who has purchased several of the rag rug looms and has written in to share a story with us. We asked Susan if we could share this with everyone on the website and she agreed. This is her story:

Susan wanted to share with us an event that has just transpired using one of the rug looms. A close friend was about to embark on one of those turns in life where you're not always sure of the outcome. She, and the rest of the group of friends were looking for a way to wish their friend well and share with her a memorable going-away gift.
It was suggested that each of the friends purchase one yard of fabric that represented somthing special or memorable. As I am sure you are surmising, these special fabrics would be used to weave a rug as a gift
Susan was able to make an embroidered label, which read "Life is a Tapestry of Friends". The rug was gifted to the friend just recently. The friend was notably touched, shed a few tears, and commented that it would become her magic carpet and would accompany her on her travels.

Susan thought I would be interested in this special story and thought we would be touched by this use of the rag rug frames and the special keepsake that had been created. She said, "Funny, rugs are usually used to warm the feet. This one was used to warm the heart".
